Location - In the spacious gardens (which lead to the beach) of the owner's house, this tasteful development is on the edge of the large fishing village of Nungwi.
Accommodation - There are 8 en-suite rooms (to be 10 in 2005) which offer the highest standard of rooms of all establishments at Nungwi village. Some rooms have direct sea views, others have sea views from their spacious verandahs. The generous sized rooms are pristine, with white tiled floors, traditional furnishings, mosquito nets, built-in wardrobes and are airconditioned. Rooms have access to small fitted kitchens with refrigerator; some rooms have a separate sitting area. One cottage is ideal for a family, or small group, as it has 2 separate bedrooms with a common sitting room/kitchenette.
Facilities - At the moment breakfast is served on the verandah of guests' rooms, but a small dining area is planned where breakfast and snacks will be served. Small group dinners can be cooked to order with a days notice; Elizabeth's grilled Kingfish must be one of the best meals I have had on the island. Flame Tree is close enough to several bars/restaurants to take advantage of what these offer, yet you can retreat to the peace and quiet of the Cottages. Seif & Elizabeth have their own mashua (small local dhow) and organise snorkelling trips with picnic lunch to Mnemba Atoll and Kendwa, deep sea fishing, line fishing and the ever popular sunset sail. Scuba diving can be arranged with Diving and Watersports Centres just 3 minutes walk away.
